Lucky You Maybe!
On this very special St. Patrick’s Day I am thrilled to announce that we have a winner! As mentioned in my last blog post, I am giving away a copy of the wonderful Chicken Soup for the Soul book “My Very Good, Very Bad Cat.”
Yes, I suspect Poppy is beyond delighted that this book, which contains 101 stories that are ONLY about cats, will be winging its way to its new owner. Little does she know, I’ve kept a copy for myself. Had to. My story describing the hellish time I picked up my boss’s hellion precious cat from the vet is in there. The other 100 stories are pure gold. They made me laugh, they made me cry, they made me sssshh don’t tell Poppy whatever you do want to get a cat of my very own.
Enough. Let’s get down to it.
I am delighted to announce that the winner of this gem of a book is: Jean Lomas-Hamilton the blogger behind This Slow Process. Love how she explains how she got the name: “At one of our early postpartum visits, the nurse referred to the first year of parenthood as “this slow process of falling in love.” So true, no?
Congratulations, Jean! Your “love for orange cats” will be more than sated, faith and begorrah!
As for the rest of you who entered, I DO thank you. I encourage you to pick up a copy of the book. It’s a worthy read. You can order it here by clicking on the Amazon link in my sidebar, even.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you all!
If you’d care to share how you’re celebrating and working the wearing of the green today, I’d love to hear.
Psssst … It’s NOT too late to bake those Irish Scones. If I can do it so can you!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Kelly – and congratulations to your lucky winner! Your side bar is looking quite impressive, by the way! Well done – and all the luck of the Irish to you! I’m wearing green, but I posted a tip on my blog today for all the people who forgot what day it was when they got dressed 🙂
Loved that tip on making an item to wear at the last minute, Susan. And your video. Very impressive. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you as well. Celebrations are well underway across the country. My daughter sent me a photo at 8:00 AM of fellow students partying on the house, yes, ON, in front of her place on campus. Everyone was well into their cups and donning the green!
Congratulations Jean! I should be happy for her, right? About as happy for her as you are for the winner (not you) of the Drop Stop giveaway I had on my blog, right? 🙂
Yes. You should be as happy as I am for not winning. We are losers, are we not? Pffft. No. We are winners. I am sorry to have not won the Drop Stop giveaway but all the more reason for me to hunt for them. They sound perfect and just what I need to keep another ring from slipping down between my car seats. Happy St. Patrick’s Day my American Cousin!
Happy St Paddy’s Day, dear Friend. Congrats to Jean!! She truly has the luck of the Irish with her to win your fabulous book!!! I just ordered a poster of your very handsome PM for my wall. Hopefully, the Mister won’t be jealous. Have a fabulous weekend!!
Jean does have the luck of the Irish with her! As do you. Were they all out of Trump posters?
Aw, Happy St. Patrick’s Day Kelly!! We are going to my in-laws tonight for a real, old fashioned St.Patrick’s Day dinner including my MIL’s Irish Soda Bread, which is out of this world. So psyched and still one of my favorite days of the year here to be quite honest 🙂
I love it, too, Janine! How fun that you get to celebrate with an honest to goodness real, old fashioned St. Patrick’s Day dinner. YUM. May the Soda Bread be piping hot and the butter a plenty!
So can I wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s on March 18th? Yesterday I put the corned beef on the stove after lunch, and while it cooked did computer stuff and yard work. Then shortly before we ate I cooked the GOOD stuff (cabbage, potatoes, and carrots) in the corned beef broth. It turned into a wonderful meal.
Yes – never too late to wish one a Happy St. Patrick’s! Your meal sounds wonderful, Kathy. I have to admit something. I’ve never made corned beef. Ever. However, it sounds like a dish that I should make – one that allows you to ignore it as you go about with the rest of your day. And how clever to cook the cabbage, potatoes and carrots in the broth. You’ve given me lots to think about. Thank you.
Making corned beef and cabbage isn’t hard…just like making any other boiled dinner. Personally, I think the cabbage is the best part but I won’t turn my nose up at the other parts.
Sounds yummy and rather easy. Thanks, Kathy. I’ll give it a go when my kids are back.
Happy belated St. Patrick’s Day! Every year I realize that I have no green in my wardrobe. I need to try Susan’s trick! Congrats to Jean – she will really enjoy the book!
Yes – I loved Susan’s idea! Thanks for your kind wishes to Jean. I am amazed that she has a twin cat to the one on the cover. Thank you again, Lana for buying a copy of the book.
Happy belated St. Patrick’s Day, my friend! Congrats to Jean for winning that awesome book! 🙂
A Happy Belated St. Patrick’s to you, Chris! Thanks for your kind words. I think Jean will really appreciate it as it looks like she has the twin cat to the one on the cover. Who knew?
Thanks again, Kelly – I’m so very excited to have won, and the book arrived in record time! I loved your story, by the way. Hilarious!
And thanks to everyone else for your congratulatory comments! I do indeed have the luck of the Irish (residual effects of the year I lived in Cork, perhaps?).
(Also, I’m sorry I missed this lovely post until now … I promise I’m not ungrateful, I’ve just been a little sleep deprived. They do start sleeping eventually, right? Please say yes.)
You’re more than welcome, Jean. So glad you enjoyed it and that the book arrived so speedily. It’s the kind of book that you can put down and not pick up for a few weeks and it’s fine. Perfect for those late nights when the littly isn’t sleeping! And yes, they do start sleeping … eventually. Right about the time you get used to the lack of sleep …
